Community Grants

Community grants provide funding for project-based initiatives in support of social services, arts and culture, education, environment, health and animal welfare within the Ottawa region. Most grants average between $8,000 - $10,000. Some grants are smaller and others may involve multi-year funding and larger amounts (over $10,000). These larger grants may provide project funding, focus on building organizational capacity or seeding new programs.

For further information on applying for a grant, and to access the grant application form, visit the How to Apply page.

Prior to submitting your application, we ask that you carefully review our Granting Guidelines. We also encourage you to contact the Grantmaking Staff at the Community Foundation to discuss your project.

Application Deadlines: Feb. 1 and Oct. 1

To be considered in each grant cycle, complete applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on the deadline date. (As fewer funds are generally available for the fall grant stream, we strongly encourage organizations to apply in time for the Feb. 1 deadline.)
