L. Denis Desautels, OC, FCA, Treasurer

Denis Desautels served as Auditor General of Canada from 1991 to 2001. Prior to that appointment, he had a 27-year career with Ernst & Young. Among his many designations, Denis is an Officer of the Order of Canada. He was a founding member of the Public Sector Accounting and Auditing Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and was named a Fellow by the Order of Chartered Accountants of Québec and by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.  He is presently Vice-Chair of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council of the CICA.  Denis holds honourary doctorates from the University of Ottawa, the University of Waterloo and Saint Paul University.  He sits on a number of Boards, including Bombardier, Laurentian Bank, Groupe Jean Coutu, CARE Canada and the International Development Research Centre.
