John has practiced law for over thirty years, having graduated from Queens University. He was called to the Bar in 1973. As Counsel and partner with Nelligan O’Brien Payne, LLP, his sound knowledge of commercial and not-for-profit corporations, special interest in real estate, wills, estate planning and trusts, his business acumen and practical approach allows him to design innovative and workable solutions to his clients’ needs. John’s practice in the charitable and non-profit area results from his interest in commercial law and his personal interest in community work. He is Honourary Legal Counsel and past president of the Parkinson’s Society of Ottawa-Carleton, and is very involved in the community, especially with health care and senior issues. He is a frequent speaker on these topics to community groups as well as professional associations. Certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Estates and Trust Law, John was made a Fellow of the Canadian Condominium Institute.
